#2023-05 Updates
Celebrating our first official Care Space with Kernel Community. PLUS learnings about energy, hyper-performance, mental health, and timing habits.
UPCOMING
A timely time to talk about timing habits
Has it been hard for you to keep up certain habits? Or maybe you’re trying a new routine but it doesn’t seem to be working out for you. Maybe it is time for you to stop wasting time and start doing things at the right time 🤓 .
Marie Gombert is a post-doctoral researcher from the SRI Institute. She’ll be sharing about the concept of time from the perspective our body functions. This could potentially explain why your routines are not working for you. A key session to attend especially if you need an action plan to achieve your life goals!
Ritual v1.3 and Vital v1.1
We’ve concluded our beta with Kernel Community and….. they said yes! We’re super thrilled to announce that HEA has opened our first Care Space with Kernel Community! We’ll be holding weekly Rituals with them while continuing to develop the experience and the tech behind it. This means we’ll also be looking to build our roster of healers who’d like to actively participate and reap the benefits of a positive sum network.
Please reach out to us at hello@hea.care | Telegram | Discord to find out how you can get involved. If you know of other communities that could use a Care Space, please feel free to suggest or connect us directly.
It has been a great challenge and extremely fulfilling. Kernel fellows have been honestly gracious in helping us identify gaps in the initial design of the experience Each Ritual group has helped build on the next phase of rituals and the accompanying collective monitoring digital tool (Vital). That being said, each ritual is going to be so unique because it is human-led with the help of Vital tooling. If you want to experience what it’s like to heal with like-minded supportive people, let us know.
REFLECTIONS
Learnings from our global network of care spaces
A common thread at our catch-ups this month is about energy expense. Due to professional/academic expectations, parental obligations, relational tensions, skill-confidence dip, just to name a few. But, what stood out was the unexplainable lows that seems to drag on even as we get pulled into joyous and not so joyous happenings.
For healers particularly, showing up for someone they feel responsible for, and having enough energy to be present when providing care to others is mission critical.
One strategy that came up was journaling — a super simple and effective tool for getting an overview of all tasks at hand. Then pairing up energising ones with energy depleting ones. Or prioritising tasks that needs more headspace earlier in the day — also known as front-loading. A concept that borrows a page from product development.
Another strategy that came up was about rationing your available energy with spoons, (or marbles — any object that is tangibly finite in the most realistic sense.) This analogy is commonly used to help people suffering from severe chronic illnesses explain the frame of mind they have to be in when strategising basic life needs such as getting out of bed, getting dressed, and preparing their meals. So do talk about it with care.
If you enjoy the freedom of having a healthier being, then this is a nudge to cultivate a deeper appreciation for what you have in abundance. Turn it into meaningful action instead of taking it for granted.
Our core healers in the network’s global Care Space are two more check-ins away from completing Tania’s MasterMind Accountability program. Well done team for showing up as best as you can for one another the past 6 weeks!

TO DO
June’s global check-in
Try this activity for the month of June and let us know by 30 June how it went for you on any of our community/social channels. POAPs for attending and sharing your experience at any of our live events.
Listen to your body and journal your daily activities. One on page: What signals are your body giving you that something is going wrong? It could be as mundane as the usual fatigue due to delaying bedtime, a nagging pain due to bad posture or not seeking treatment for a persistent symptom. Repeated symptoms that become chronic could occur for years before it becomes a critical illness. Don’t take this amazing signal mechanism for granted. Prevent it while you still can. One the other page: Is there any part of your body that feels good? Not used to noticing pleasure? How about the absence of pain? What have you been doing that makes you feel good in the long run? Is it a good habit that could be repeated? What have you been doing well? Being aware of what is going on well is just as important. Maybe we could learn a thing or two and apply it to areas where we need help. Reminding ourselves that we are capable of doing something right.
Take care,
Jan
